- The Nike VR Forged Pro Combo irons deliver premium, tour level performance, gorgeous classical lines and a high degree of workability thanks to the legendary ‘combo’ head design.
- The long irons (3-6) use a pocket cavity design, offering more forgiveness and a lower centre of gravity for a higher ball flight and a softer landing on the green. All this is achieved whilst still keeping a classic appearance.
- The famous ‘Split Cavity’ design is worked into the short irons (7-PW), delivering a penetrating precision ball flight allowing a more target-oriented approach with every shot.
- Based on feedback taken directly from Nike athletes seeking the ultimate in sound and feel, the Nike Golf engineers have added polymer (which the engineers at Nike affectionately refer to as “shot-making gel”) into the pocket of the long irons, 3 through 6. The result is a pure sound and feel at impact, similar to that of a traditional blade or split cavity, with the benefit of long iron forgiveness and more ball speed for higher trajectory.
- Each head in the VR Pro Combo set is forged from 1020 Forged Carbon Steel with each face die-stamped with grooves to exact specifications to ensure extremely low variance and shot-making consistency.
- X3X ‘high-frequency’ fully conforming grooves provide better performance and more consistent distance control. There are more grooves, closer together and deeper on the face to ensure maximum flight control and shot-to-shot consistency.
- Nike know that each club in the set is required for a different job, therefore, the centre of gravity moves gradually and consistently throughout each club in the set for optimal launch and consistent distance control.
- Fitted with the brand new True Temper Dynamic Gold ‘Pro’ steel shafts which feature progressive weights and step patterns to perfectly suit each individual club in the set.
