At first glance it looks like Altazimuth refractor telescope has a normal alt-azimuth mount with it´s up/down and left/right positioning just like we know on standard camera tripods. This is advantageous for daytime observations.

Converting to astronomy use is simply a matter of loosening one thumb-knob and adjusting the mount so that the celestial targets can be examined at high magnifications.
